1955 Ferrari 121 LM Spider by Scaglietti

Being auctioned away August 18, 2017, is the original 1995 Ferrari 121 driven by Ernie McAfee On lap 33 of the Del Monte Trophy race, which ended with the 121 LM hitting a pine tree on the driver’s side, killing him on contact. 121 LM was devotedly restored by William Doheny after the wreck over the following two years in 1956.

Only 4 were built and this happens to be the third you are viewing. The blue paint reflects of smurf blue with gore red interior. The LM top speed remains 174 MPH amidst 360 horses. The seats have sparse cracks from natural wear along with a fissured windshield.

I know these numbers are pretty damn high but don’t stop yourself from fantasizing that someday you’ll be a bidder at this auction led by your ringman.
