The 12 Best 6×6 Trucks Ever Made

It sounds like 6×6 trucks might be a rare breed, but believe me, they’re not. You don’t have a lot of offerings from the mainstream manufacturers, but there are plenty of models offered by aftermarket companies, with some like Hennessey and Apocalypse even offering more than one. So, here’s a list of 12 6×6 trucks that caught our attention and are sure to make your jaws drop, too.

Apocalypse Warlord 6×6

Apocalypse is a 6×6 truck builder from Fort Lauderdale and it is imperative to have all its models here considering how different each one looks from the other (and, don’t miss the fascinating names!). The Apocalypse Warlord 6×6 comes with a third axle plonked in between the stock two. A custom 0.25-inch thick steel frame had to be made for this build. It looks like a TRX for the most part of it – especially the front fascia – but moves to the sides and the rear and everything changes. The Hellcat V-8 engine is cranked up to make 797 ponies instead of 702 and comes with a custom suspension system that includes six active and electric Bilstein shocks along with Dana 60 rear axle with lockers.It rides on 20-inch wheels shod in 37-inch all-terrain tires, four KC LED spotlights, power sidesteps, etc. The extended bed features a full-sized spare tire, too. On the inside, you’ll find a black and red two-tone leather and suede interior. The 6×6 truck, when launched, came with a price tag of $250,000.

SF 6x6G by So-Flo Jeeps

The Jeep Gladiator has been quite a hit with 6×6 truckmakers, but this one by So-Flo Jeeps took our breath away.. It features a full-time six-wheel-drive system created by re-gearing and re-assembling the 5.13:1 axle. The middle axle is equipped with a nine-inch differential sourced from Detroit True Track Locker. The 6x6G also rides on a five-inch lift kit with Falcon shocks that allows up to 14 inches of suspension travel on each axle. It retains the same 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar engine that produces 285 ponies and 260 pound-feet of torque, but, you can also opt for the optional 6.2-liter, LS3 V-8 engine from the Corvette that produces 430 horses and 425 pound-feet of twist. Coming to the exterior, you’ll find a steel bumper with a 9,500-pound winch, power running steps, a custom Roll Cage, fiberglass “Predator Hood” with air vents, LED headlights with color-changing red halo lights, and massive 38-inch Patagonia tires. It can even tow up to 12,000 pounds. The So-Flo SF 6x6G came with a sticker price of $140,000. Opting for the V-8 would require you to shell out another 30G.

Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6

The Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6 is the only six-wheel-drive truck on this list that comes from a mainstream manufacturer. and is arguably the most famous one, thanks to its appearance on TopGear. As the name suggests, it is based on the G63, but with a plethora of mechanical changes. The truck comes with stuff like portal axles, off-road reduction gear in the transfer case, five differentials that can be locked while on the move, a tire pressure control system, etc. You’ll also find an independent axle suspension instead of the independent wheel suspension and three axles that operate autonomously. As for the engine, there’s a 5.5-liter, V-8 engine under the hood that makes 536 horses and 560 pound-feet of power torque. Power is channeled to the wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Other than this, it also features LED lights above the windscreen, stainless steel roll bar, and a plush interior. It was priced around $500,000 a decade back.

Mammoth 6×6 by Hennessey

Hennessey took the then-brand-new Ram 1500 TRX under its wings and gave it not just a dose of extra boost, but also an additional pair of wheels. However, this wasn’t the only change on the Mammoth 6×6. Hennessey also throw out the 6.2-liter, supercharged Hellcat V-8 in favor of the 7.0-liter, V-8 Hellephant engine. Coupled with a 3.0-liter supercharged that makes 15 pounds of boost, this engine puts out 1,200 horsepower! This is more than the Hellephant’s stock rating of 1,000 horses and 950 pound-feet of torque. A six-wheel-drive system, a fully upgraded suspension setup, LED lights, upgraded front, and rear bumpers, a new truck bed, and a bespoke interior are some of the other things that are different from the stock TRX. The aftermarket company announced just three examples of the Mammoth 6×6 and priced it at half-a-million bucks a pop.

Apocalypse Juggernaut 6×6

Apocalypse strikes again, this time with the beastiest beast called the Juggernaut 6×6. Based on the Ram TRX yet again (the ‘Warlord’ being the first TRX-based product), the Juggernaut is far from stock in any aspect. The additional axle comes by moving a lot of things around and installing a ton of new stuff. This full-time six-wheel-drive monster features an independent front suspension, locking diffs, Dana 60 axles, and a high-performance cooling system. The 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 mill has been dialed up to churn out 850 horses; 148 ponies more than the stock TRX. The Juggernaut looks nothing like the TRX on the outside; there’s an eight-foot extended bed and the ‘largest cab ever produced’, hand-fabricated steel bumpers, live cold air intake hood scoop, power steps, and massive 40-inch wheels. Inside the cabin, you’ll find a 12-inch head unit, a Harmon Kardon audio system, heated and cooled seats, and the ‘largest rear seat bench’. The Juggernaut 6×6 doesn’t come cheap; Apocalypse has priced it at $297,999.

VelociRaptor 6×6 by Hennessey

Hennessey ventured into the world of 6x6s with a beast called the VelociRaptor, and it was based on the Ford F-150 Raptor. The company stretched the truck’s frame and moved the actual axle slightly behind. In came a second rear axle that was placed in front of it with a pass-through differential. This differential allows rotational power to turn its ring gear and the driveshaft that connects to the second rear differential. The VelociRaptor features a special leaf-spring setup at the rear with larger Fox Racing shocks. The independent front suspension was lifted to achieve a longer travel range. When undertaking such an extensive mod, literally everything needs to be tweaked. Hennessey extended cargo bed, installed custom Hennessey front and rear bumpers, added a bed-mounted roll bar, and gave it 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain shoes. The same 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost mill was tuned to make 600 horsepower and 622 pound-feet of oomph. A high-flow intake system, an air-to-air intercooler, and a cat-back exhaust system were installed as well. The extra power compensated for the extra 700 pounds that was a result of the custom axle and upgraded suspension system. When launched, Hennessey priced the VelociRaptor 6×6 at $349,000.

Black Mamba 6×6 by Classic Overland

This unique 6×6 vehicle comes from Classic Overlands and is based on a Land Rover Defender that was retrieved from a firehouse in South Africa. Called the Project Black Mamba, it comes with a 3.5-liter, V-8 engine that churns out 430 horses and 425 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-wheel-drive system, obviously. As stated earlier, this was found in a firehouse in South Africa and is a one-off model. To make sure the Defender can handle the extra load, the company did a full off-chassis restoration with new undercarriage infrastructure, upgraded suspension setup, and soundproofing, As for the aesthetics, the SUV-turned-truck featured a snorkel on the A-pillar and a spare tire in the truck bed. Despite all the mods, it still retains the classic Defender looks. Classic Overlands had priced this truck at $315,000, which wasn’t too bad a price considering its exclusivity.

Hennessey Goliath 6×6

Yet another Hennessey build here, and this time, it’s the Goliath 6×6 that’s based on the Chevy Silverado. You get to choose between two engine options – a 5.3-liter L83 V-8 or a 6.2-liter L86 V-8. If you have a free hand and are willing to spend extra cash, you can hook the 6.2-liter V-8 with a 2.9-liter supercharger that would push the power output to a staggering 705 horsepower and 675 pound-feet of torque. Obviously, there is an additional axle here, but apart from that, Hennessey also installed wheels, tires, and brakes, and also redesigned the rear suspension setup. There’s a custom truck bed, extra LED lights, and a new roll bar. The wheels come shod in BFGoodrich 37-inch off-road tires. Again, if you’ve got more cash to spend, you can ask the company to throw in a Brembo brake system. On the inside, you can opt for Katzkin leather seats as well. Priced at $375,000 a pop, the Hennessey Goliath 6×6 is limited to just 24 copies.

Apocalypse Hellfire 6×6

Yet another Gladiator-based 6×6 truck, and yet another Apocalypse build. The Hellfire looks the part and comes with all the gear required to make it a kickass build. It is powered by a 500-horsepower Chevy LS3 V-8 that’s mated to an eight-cog high-performance gearbox. As standard, it routes power to four wheels, but you can choose to send all that oomph to all six wheels as well. It also comes with an active suspension for maximum articulation and handling. The Hellfire looks deadly on the outside. Quarter-inch thick steel bumpers, 9,500-pound winch, a 12,000-pound trailer hitch, LED headlights and color-changing Halo ring, a lift kit, and 40-inch tires are some of the things you’ll get. The marine-grade, hand-stitched cabin is as plush as it can get and comes with a good amount of creature comforts. The Apocalypse Hellfire 6×6 came with a sticker price of $150,000 before any options. Expect the price to get in the $200,000 ballpark if you opt for the 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 Hellcat and other optional goodies.

Rezvani Hercules 6×6

Arguably the most ferocious 6×6 to appear on the face of the earth, the Rezvani Hercules is a beast incarnate. Although based on the Gladiator, it looks nothing like it. As if the 244-inch length wasn’t enough to set it apart, Rezvani decided to paint it in black and contrasting orange. The cabin isn’t as loud as the exterior, but comes with plus materials like the optional custom-stitched Nappa leather seats and a suede headliner. The Hercules is offered with a choice of three engine options. Firstly, there’s the stock 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar, then there’s the 500-horsepower 6.4-liter, HEMI V-8 engine, and finally, a 7.0-liter supercharged V-8 that churns out a staggering 1,300 ponies! You can choose to route the power to either two wheels, four wheels, or all six wheels. The monster also comes with a three-inch Fox off-road suspension with Dana 60 axles. A military edition is also available, if you want something armored and solid. The Rezvani Hercules starts at $225,000.

Gladiator 6×6 by Next Level Offroad

Next Level Offroad is a Californian company that came up with a 6×6 truck based on the versatile Jeep Gladiator a few years back. Unlike all the monsters created by other companies, this one is a rather clean build. The Gladiator’s features like the seven-slat grille, the round headlights, the bumpers, front fenders, and even the tailgate have been retained. The truck rides higher off the ground, courtesy of a lift kit, which has enabled the company to equip 37-inch Toyo tires shod in 20-inch beadlock wheels. There are three engine options to choose from – a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, a 2.0-liter turbo four-pot mill, and a 3.0-liter, turbodiesel V-6. The latter one is the most powerful, churning out 375 ponies and 470 pound-feet of oomph. Next Level has also equipped this Gladiator with a six-wheel-drive system with a 4.88 gear ratio and FOX shocks on all corners. When it came out, Next Level priced it at $132,000 before any options.

Apocalypse Dark Horse 6×6

Yet another 6×6 by Apocalypse, but this one isn’t based on the TRX; this 6×6 is built on a four-door Ford Bronco and is christened the ‘Darkhorse’. Powered by the same V-6 as the stock Bronco, the aftermarket company has tuned it up to churn out 400 horses, courtesy of large injectors, a full exhaust upgrade, and software tuning. It also features a four-inch lift that has allowed it to wear bigger shoes. This beast rides on 37-inch Milestar Patagonia M/T tires shod around 20-inch wheels. Apart from the obvious changes like the extended bed – which increases the length from 189 inches to 225 inches – and the additional axle, the Darkhorse also comes with Kevlar coated steel bumper with two hooks, a lightbar, extended rear fenders, a modified roof panel, and some extra side and rear windows. On the inside, Apocalypse has opted for a brown and black leather interior. When launched, Apocalypse Darkhorse came with a starting price tag of $175,000.
