With a sculpted black exterior, the Powder Mountain Dark Chalet adds a mysterious presence to the Utah landscape. The contemporary retreat features an asymmetric clad in a glossy and matte composite skin, appearing like a black diamond lodged into the hillside. Aside from the moody aura, the exterior also hides a commercial-grade solar system that generates over 300% of its energy needs. Its inside shares the same artistic aesthetic, with a sculptural fireplace, a custom Boffi kitchen, and an LED light display recreating the Orion constellation. The modern interior is juxtaposed with the rugged scenery afforded by the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
