The Corvette took the step from being a boulevard cruiser to a true sports car in 1963 with the Sting Ray. The top option was the RPO Z06 package, which added a 360 horsepower 327ci V8 with Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection, heavy-duty suspension, a larger front sway bar, improved brake linings, and a dual-circuit brake master cylinder. Only 199 of these race-ready Corvettes were produced — one of which will be going to auction via Barrett-Jackson in Arizona. This car retains its original V8 and four-speed transmission, with a body-off restoration performed by D&M Corvette Specialists of Illinois. The auction takes place January 20-28, 2024 at WestWorld.
